Project Lead

We rely on each Project Lead to work with a nonprofit and a team of Stanford computer scientists. This role closely matches what project managers, technical leads, and entrepreneurs do in industry. You will be invaluable in helping your nonprofit get the most out of the hackathon and making your group comfortable and productive. Being a Project Lead is a great way to take on a larger role in hackathons, help nonprofits meet their needs, and tutor less-experienced students.

For skills and responsibilities, you will need to determine the feasibility of a nonprofit's project proposals. You will also be leading and helping the group of students working on your nonprofit's project, so you should be comfortable with the technical skills required for the project (language, framework, etc). We can work together to find a project that best fits your experience and preferred language. If you have completed a substantial group project for a CS course, internship, or start up, you should have all the necessary skills. We expect training and preparation to require around 10 hours total in the two weeks before a hackathon.
